Hedgerow Gathering Ethos

Ethos

We are small simple and natural. We have a structure and the necessary provided, yet the emphasis is on us all creating that which we would like created. A lot of mucking in and helping out.

We are a fellowship, with a listening ear and a caring gaze, in balance with respect for anyone’s desire for privacy, solitude, peace and quiet.

This is time and space to be outside mainstream culture and inside a renewal of the old ways. It is an opportunity to be in the Now to be with ourselves, those around us and close

to the earth. In order to create and maintain this vibration the gathering will be a no phone and photograph zone.

Please leave, as much as possible, electrical and other gadgets, at

home, in your car or the bottom of your tent.

Come prepared to be off grid. If it necessary to check in with home please do it off site. We will of course always have the flexibility and facility to make and receive calls if urgent.

Let us let go of talking about the bad things happening in world and using bad language, in order to regenerate, so we are more able to make a difference in the world on our return.

Let us be discrete with our pleasures and habits, careful not to disturb the vibe of the hedgerow community and the faerie folk.

Everyone open to our ethos is welcome, we aim to be flexible, supportive and enabling.

Children are welcome, we are not able to offer a children’s area and some of the activities will not be suitable for them, however in accordance with our ethos, children and parents are considered part of the Hedgerow community and both will be appropriately supported where possible so that we can all join in.

A limited number of well-behaved dogs will be allowed but please make alternative arrangements for them if possible.

To allow time to create the bubble of hedgerow we ask gatherers to come for at least two nights, arriving on Friday by early evening and leave Sunday late afternoon.  The full weekend is three nights arrive Friday and leave Monday. If you would like to come for some extra nights before the main gathering please contact the administrator as this is possible at a daily rate.

Hedgerow is for the love of it. No one is paid. The ticket price covers the costs which have been kept to a minimum. Sufficient tasty simple vegetarian food is included and will cover at least one meal a day. Please bring your own food too.

Please come prepared to not need to drive or be driven after arrival. Any needs hopefully can be met on site.

There is a small shop and café and campsite with good facilities close by

if necessary and a town in walking distance.
