What's on site
The site has;
Two compost toilets and sufficient porta- loos.
There are a number of drinking water taps on site
A basic wash station and some shower tents with manual off-grid shower packs (solar heated / cold.)
camping is in the field and orchard and some opportunity to be more hidden away.
The site does include a shepherd’s hut with toilet and shower for one or two people available according to need please enquire hedgetix@gmail.com.
A kitchen tent with gas rings
A covered communal space and bell tent.
There is a good cafe and shop close by.
Accessibility
The Land being flat there are no steps or slopes, there are willing folk to help carry and put up
tents and there is no necessity to walk more than a few yards, but we are in a field with
basic facilities so is only feasible if you have reasonable mobility and the ability to cope with
being out in the elements. We will ensure, as far as is possible, that the gathering site and the guided walks are suitable and safe. the core crew know the land and the area well and have experience in running gatherings. we have basic insurance. it is to be understood that we all attend as friends, no one is paid a part from the campsite owner & suppliers of equipment porta-loos etc. we all take personal responsibility for our well being.
Please bring
A Tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag or bedding. Plate bowl cutlery, wellingtons and waterproofs and appropriate clothing and equipment, for example a torch it is off-grid so there is no lighting a part from the fire and moon. It is outdoors so be prepared for all sorts of weather.
There will be a phone number available if you are struggling to get to site and pick-ups from various stations in the area will be possible but please try to warn us first that you need a lift so that we can organise this as a community. Enough hot vegetarian food will be provided to sustain you over the weekend but please feel free to bring your own food if you would like.
